iAchieve Flipped Classroom Training Adventure

Yesterday we began our flipped classroom training with 10 Creighton School District teachers. Our flipped classroom models will span a variety of schools and grade levels ranging from 1st grade to 8th grade!

On Monday we explored the flipped classroom model and learned from flippers such as Jon Bergmann, Aaron Sams, Brian Bennett, Graham Johnson, and Katie Gimbar. We really developed a strong conceptual understanding of the "flip" and how it can look so different in every classroom. We also focused on the fact that it is about what happens in the classroom to help students develop mastery and become responsible for their own learning - not the technology, not the videos, not the homework!

Since we are using iPads to support our flipped instruction,, we also introduced the iPads to the teachers and experimented with several apps and how to use them for learning.

Our second day, Tuesday, was "Technology Day"! Everyone worked really hard setting up their iPad carts and syncing all of the student iPads. But we also did some app exploration with Educreations, ScreenChomp, T-Chart, and Adobe Reader.
