We had a bit of excitement last Friday afternoon. After school, one of the flipped classroom students was at volleyball practice. She left her backpack in the usual spot with her iPad inside. When practice was over she went to get the backpack but it was gone.
The student reported it to the coach who then made sure it was reported to the assistant principal and homeroom teacher. The police were also called in order to complete a police report.
In the meantime, the classroom teacher contacted me to the report the incident and get the serial number and other important information about the iPad for the police. As I was looking up the information, I also logged into iCloud and went to Find My iPad.
After logging in and selecting the correct iPad, it showed that the device was at a home or apartment across the street from the school. Turns out the student also lives across the street from the school and her friend had taken the backpack home for the girl without telling her. Just a little miscommunication!
Crisis averted but boy did Find My iPad work well!
